BEDFORD CAT CAFÉ

Catpuccino to go please

If you need a little company whilst drinking your oat latte this is the place to be. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by friendly furry beings waiting to be your friend.

About the Café

Bedford Cat Cafe is based in the heart of Bedford, right in High Town and known as Bedford's only Cat Cafe. The café opened its doors to the public in the early months of 2021 with a total of nine lovely cats!  The entry fee is £5 (depending on size of the party) and you get to spend over an hour inside the café.

Their mission statement is purely to improve one's mental wellbeing whilst being in the presence of furry friends. All of this is achieved by inviting customers into the café to share the love around and to enjoy being in the company of cats. The journey to the café is pretty straightforward with lots of parking around (free parking on Sundays).

Once you have arrived at the destination, you are welcomed by a member of staff and they go through ground rules ensuring you and the cat have the best experience. Luckily, we got to keep our shoes on during the duration of our visit!

Catpuccino & Toastie

There was a variety of food and drinks to have along with your free drink. As we came in after 11:30 am and I had not eaten any breakfast, I thought about having a tuna melt along with my cappuccino.

Tuna Melt: £5.00

Cappuccino: + £1.00

Personally, I did not believe the tuna melt was worth the £5 I had initially spent on it because in my head I had expected something different and I kind of wished I had ordered something else. Although, the cappuccino tasted great and I was satisfied with the amount that I was given.

TABLE

Meet the Cats

Each cat had their own unique quality that it brought to the table. As I first walked into the café nearly all of the cats were peacefully sleeping at different locations and it was lovely to see that and to even be surrounded by many cats! As I sipped my cappuccino, I walked around the place and even followed some cats around to see what they get up during the day and how they spend their time.

Overall Thoughts

Overall I enjoyed my afternoon at the cat café and for the price, it is totally worth going to. I spent more than enough time drinking my coffee and enjoying my time with the cats and I will definitely be visiting again.
