Start Your Morning's Right

If you are anything like me, I NEED my morning brew to wake me up and sometimes, I do not have enough time in the morning to make that beverage. So, it is so important that I can make my beverage in the office. But, what are your options if your office does not have the right types of equipment to make that drink?

Whilst working, I have found ways that I can make my hot beverage in the office without having to spend money on takeaway coffee in three simple steps.

1: Getting the Water Right

Your water for your hot beverage must be good because this is usually the base for your drink. Usually, the tap water in the office is not ideal and can make the drink taste weird or bitter therefore, it is always handy to filter out the water before boiling it. Keeping a filtered jug in your workspace will allow you to filter out the bad taste and any other particles in tap water making it drinkable alone or for a drink! I would highly recommend investing in one.

2: No Coffee Machine? No Problem

I have realised not everyone will have a standard coffee machine in their office kitchen to make a cuppa (including myself) so I had to find ways to make a good cup of coffee. I also do not want to keep spending money on takeaway coffee because it's something that should be enjoyed in the café and not in the office (in my opinion)! So, here are the options below which you can consider:

- Instant coffee

- Sachet coffees / hot chocolate

- Tea bags

- French Press

I haven't used instant coffee in a long time but it is useful and easy to make. All you need is water and milk or if you prefer to have just water you can. I don't like to have tea in the office only because the water still does not taste great but it might be different for you and also very easy to make. But, my favourite at the moment would be the coffee / hot chocolate sachets you find in the supermarket because all you need is water and they taste great. You can also take those sachets anywhere with you and all you need is boiling water to do the rest. Also, french presses are very handy because they can do two jobs such as making your coffee and frothing your milk! All you need to do is pour some milk into the french press and let it do its job (learnt this from my sister).

3: Taking it to the Next Level

Now, if you want a beverage close to a cappuccino, latte, milky hot chocolate etc, I recommend purchasing a handheld milk froth or a machine milk froth. The cheapest option would be the handheld one in which you can froth the milk by yourself as much as you want and works just as well, especially with milk. The only thing is, if you want a hot drink you would need to heat the milk first. If you have dairy-free milk, the handheld milk froth is okay but not as great as the machine milk froth. The machine heats the milk and froths it for your beverage with just a push of a button. But, as mentioned above the french press also works wonders.

And that is my insight on how to make your beverages at work. It has helped me work my way around without a coffee machine and gets me through the day. These are just ideas and not always the right way but it certainly has helped my mood in the mornings now! There are most likely other ways to make coffee at work or you can scrap all of this and ask for a coffee machine from your boss, but I hope it helps those who need a good cup of coffee in the morning as I do.

That's all for now.
