L'eto Spot in Soho

L'ETO Caffe

Soho, London

It's Saturday night and we are looking for a spot in Soho to relax before the trip back home. Luckily, we found L'eto which outshined all the other stores with its bright neon lights outside and the selection of bakeries displayed on their window. So, the queue outside their store did not bother us because we had to know why this place is so popular as it gave us a chance to look at the various cakes and pastries!

Is it worth the wait?

THE ORDER

1 x Soya Cappuccino: £4.40

1 x Strawberry Cheesecake: £9.50

It is not worth the wait.

After waiting 10 minutes to get seated, we waited yet another 15 minutes for our very simple order to get to our table. Also, it was not mentioned that it cost extra to use alternative dairy options within our beverage because the menu itself was confusing. There was no price list for the cakes and pastries displayed so I did not know what to order. Although, the cappuccino was lovely considering how overpriced it was. The cheesecake? let's not even go there, but don't get me wrong, that was lovely..just not the price.

But, at least the café was cute. It was nearly Halloween so there were all these Halloween decorations everywhere and tiny pumpkins on each table to feel the festive spirit. I also discovered the café is not just one floor but two floors! As this café serves breakfast, lunch and dinner I can understand why the bottom floor is reserved only for lunch/dinner.

Honest Opinion?

I don't think I would be coming back to this spot again. It was quite loud, service was slow and I could not hear myself think. I also do not think it is reasonable to charge £9.50 for a slice of cake but hey, inflation? I guess this place is great for Instagram photos and maybe the lunch/dinner menu has more to offer but if you are just coming for a coffee and cake, save your money and go elsewhere otherwise you would be spending £15 for just those two.
