KAI & Me

KAI

St Martins Square, Leicester

It is a Sunday afternoon which can only mean one thing...brunch. Yes, waking up late and not making breakfast because Sundays are made to be lazy. So, we found this little spot within the Leicester town centre and decided to have brunch. The great thing about this café is that it is open 7 days a week! So, if anyone is in Leicester on a Sunday and feeling some brunch, you know where to go. The only thing is, this place does get busy and you can not book ahead a table so depending on what time you go, you may have to wait for a table. Luckily, as the café is two floors, we were seated upstairs.

THE ORDER

Drinks:

1x Oat Cappuccino (£2.90)

1x Hot chocolate (£2.60)

1x Apple & Cinnamon tea (£2.20)

1x Everyday brew tea (£2.20)

Food:

1x Breakfast potato + poached eggs (£6.50)

1x Smoked salmon pancakes (£10)

2x Avocado & tofu scrambled eggs with sourdough toast (£19)

Everyone, including myself, loved the food. It make things easier to choose our food because it was all displayed on one page. The service was great and easy and the food did not take much longer to come considering how busy they were. I would also say the prices are okay! It is not too pricy yet not that cheap. However, the portion sizes make up for it. As I was not feeling much from the menu, I designed my plate with breakfast potatoes and poached eggs, filling me up. And did I mention how good the food was? The potatoes were seasoned so well and the poached egg was great. I also ordered the everyday brewed tea and this is the first time I have been to a café and ordered tea where they put two tea bags instead of one! Amazing. I asked everyone else how their food was and it is safe to say we all loved it.

My overall opinion of this café is I love it. I would come back here again if I wanted brunch and I could see myself spending time here on my laptop or catching up with family and friends. It is local, within the town centre and has a vibe.

Sundays Made Easy

I have always believed Sundays are meant to be taken easy and to rest your body and do what you like before the week starts and that also means grabbing brunch with your family and friends.
