Espress -ing Four Reason Why Coffee is Great.

I need to espress-o my feelings for coffee and the benefits of having coffee! Little did I know the many benefits this little cup of joy has that can improve our daily lives and even our performances. I know ever since I had started drinking coffee I have seen improvement in my memory, my concentration and my energy. The health impact of coffee has long been a controversial topic but the latest wave of scientific evidence brings a wealth of good news for coffee lovers and how it can do good for you. Experts recommend sticking to less than 400 milligrams of caffeine per day. An 8-ounce cup of coffee typically has 80 mg to 100 mg of caffeine, which works out to about four cups a day.

Here is 4 facts why coffee is so good for you!

1. Coffee = Antioxidants

Antioxidants fight inflammation, an underlying cause of many chronic conditions, including arthritis, atherosclerosis and many types of cancer. They also neutralise free radicals, which occur naturally as a part of everyday metabolic functions, but which can cause oxidative stress that leads to chronic disease. In other words, antioxidants help keep us healthy at the micro-level by protecting our cells from damage. Finally, chlorogenic acid, an important antioxidant found almost exclusively in coffee, is also thought to help prevent cardiovascular disease.

2. Boosts Your Mood

Coffee has also been linked to a lower rate of depression, especially in women. Those who consume as many as four eight-ounce cups per day have been found to lower their depression risk by as much as 20%. Caffeine is known to block receptors in the brain from binding with a chemical (adenosine) that causes fatigue and depressed mood. So once in a while, grab a coffee! Make time for coffee and breakfast in the morning before your commute and enjoy your mornings.

3. Boost of Energy

Caffeine does indeed give you a boost of energy for a short period of time. Caffeine is a mild stimulant that speeds up the messages between our brain and body. In small doses, and as part of a healthy diet it can make us feel more awake and alert. This does only include having espresso or black coffee without the added sugar and milk etc of course.

4. Improve Memory and Concentration

It keeps your nerves active, thus enhancing brain function as it contains a stimulant called caffeine. Caffeine blocks an inhibitory neurotransmitter in your brain, which causes a stimulant effect thus improving the energy levels, mood and various aspects of brain function. So next time you are studying or working, make time to grab or make a coffee just to stimulate your brain.

There are so many other benefits of having coffee but these are just the few that is enough for me to drink my daily dose everyday. I regularly have espressos in the morning and throughout the day just so I can boost my concentration, energy and most of all my mood. I have seen an improvement in myself by having coffee regularly without the extra add ins as coffee itself has its many benefits which is great for us of course in small doses.
