2021: Byeeeee :)

That's it.

2021 as we know was full of confusion, happiness and sadness. I cried a lot and laughed a lot and had no idea what I was doing with my future (still don't but, look how far we all have come? Some of us (including myself) got married, brought a car, a house or a newborn into this crazy world and they all seemed right at the time. So, for that, we all have achievements we are proud of showing off. But let's not forget the 'lockcation' during the first four to five months of the year.

From the beginning of January till May I believe it was honestly the most confusing part of life. At least half of the world worked from home for many months and got comfortable working from our kitchen tables and drinking coffee and taking as many mini-breaks required to get through the day to only be stuck at home and bored. It was a challenging time. I remember working from home and I would often wake up at least five minutes from logging in to be in my pyjamas the whole day with my coffee cup half full being optimistic about the day. We all hung onto our Netflix shows and series and re-watched some of them to pass time (gossip girl for me) while wasting precious time. However, my skincare routine stepped up and I was glowing more than ever with my five-step morning routine that I had to follow. Just like everyone, I become obsessed with certain things because of how much free time I had and believed those gaps needed to be fill although, it stopped myself from going insane. The one of many things I would look forward to is going on my daily walks to the grocery shop or Starbucks to have some peace of mind because of how cluttered my mind was. While working from home had its perks, it did also have down-sides I did not consider and I know a lot of you can agree with this.

And then things started to get a little better...

Shops started to re-open again and cafés are inviting people to sit instead of take-out. There was the relief of sitting elsewhere instead of the couch and drinking coffee made by someone else! From then on, our year had officially started to make sense and we got to reset and start all over, yet again. I got married and brought a car with my husband in the space of a year which was a huge achievement and joy in my life. I got to finally go on holiday for the summer which was a much-needed break from reality and enjoy what life has to offer and enjoy my summer holiday. Of course there was some restrictions which had become the norm now however, we all still got to enjoy the summer we did not have last year.

So, I hope for 2022 our lives become a bit clearer and easier for some of us and we all get what we prayed for. Here is a little snip of how I ended my 2021:

As they say in Portuguese: Feliz Ano Novo

Lamego, Portugal.
